Drosophila fruitflies! alot of them! but most were hiding under the sponge cap while i took this.
we were supposed to anaesthesize the flies then pour the asleep flies out of the vial. it was disgusting. had to constantly tell myself those are fake flies. yucks! and was so paranoid that they would suddenly wake up while i was viewing them under the microscope.
it was a horrifying but exciting close up encounter with the flies, and my point was proven; they are ugly! especially the eyes.
anyway im super impressed by the anaesthetic solution. its called FlyNap. omg seems more efficient than baygon, just a few seconds and the flies were knocked out.
seem to have high affinity with insects these days
